Alanis Morissette - MTV Unplugged

Alanis Unplugged is the fifth album and first live album by Canadian singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette, released by Maverick Records in the United States on November 9, 1999 (see 1999 in music). It comprises songs performed by Morissette on the television program MTV Unplugged. Twelve tracks were included on the album, but Morissette performed several others, including "Baba", "Thank U" (both from 1998's Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie) and "Your House" (the hidden track on 1995's Jagged Little Pill), during her Unplugged concert. The first single, "That I Would Be Good", was moderately successful, and two other tracks, "King of Pain" (a cover of the song by The Police) and "You Learn" were released as singles outside North America. As of September 2008 the album has sold 646,000 copies in the U.S.[1]

In addition to material from Morissette's first two U.S. albums, Alanis Unplugged featured performances of three previously unreleased songs from her tours: "No Pressure over Cappuccino", "Princes Familiar" and "These R the Thoughts". Morissette has stated that "Princes Familiar" in particular is one of her favourite and most vocally challenging songs. She performed it on her 2005 Diamond Wink Tour, where she dedicated it to "all of the Dads in the audience". The ballad "No Pressure over Cappuccino", one of the first songs she wrote following the release of Jagged Little Pill, is presumably about the singer's twin brother, Wade.

We should take control

Have you ever realize that we can't control our life? Have you ever realize that we are became depend to the media? We become a 'loyal' consumer from the media without any option. They make us dependent to them. Their agenda setting and political setting from the owner make

No! We can control it! We should take control! Control your soul! Control your country!

How? Raise your own flag like Bjork said. Share your knowledge, if you have something that you can share, put it on. Pass it along...

Bad Religion - How Could Hell Be Any Worse?

How Could Hell Be Any Worse? is the first full-length album released by influential punk band Bad Religion. It was financed by a $1,000 loan by guitarist Brett Gurewitz's father. Its success surprised the band when it sold 10,000 copies in under a year. The sound of the record was vastly improved from their first release, 1981's self-titled EP. The record was originally released as an LP in 1982 and again in 1988[1] with a different catalogue number and Epitaph's current address. It was released on CD as part of the 1991 compilation, '80-'85, and was remastered for the 2004 re-issue of this album.

How Could Hell Be Any Worse? is the band's first album recorded with Pete Finestone on drums and also their only full-length album to date with original member Jay Ziskrout, who played drums on each track not recorded with Finestone. Though not yet credited as a member of the band, future guitarist Greg Hetson, who was in Circle Jerks during this time, also did a guitar solo on "Part III".

"We're Only Gonna Die," and "Fuck Armageddon... This Is Hell," became fan favorites and are staples of the band's live show to this day. Many later punk groups such cite this album as their main influence. On the back of the cover there is a picture inspired by Dante's Divine Comedy.

Blur - Modern Life Is Rubbish

Modern Life Is Rubbish is the second album by English alternative rock band Blur, released in May 1993. Although their debut album Leisure (1991) had been commercially successful, Blur faced a severe media backlash soon after its release, and fell out of public favour. After the group returned from an unsuccessful tour of the United States, poorly received live performances and the rising popularity of rival group Suede further diminished Blur's status in the UK.

Under threat of being dropped by Food Records, for their next album Blur underwent an image makeover championed by frontman Damon Albarn. The band incorporated influences from traditional British guitar pop groups such as The Kinks and Small Faces, and the resulting sound was melodic and lushly produced, featuring brass, woodwind and backing vocalists. Albarn's lyrics on Modern Life Is Rubbish "uses poignant humour and Ray Davies characterisation to investigate the dreams, traditions and prejudices of suburban England", according to writer David Cavanagh.[1]

Modern Life Is Rubbish was a moderate chart success in the UK; the album peaked at number 15, while the singles taken from the album charted in the Top 30. Applauded by the music press, the album's Anglocentric rhetoric rejuvenated the group's fortunes after their post-Leisure slump. Modern Life Is Rubbish is regarded as one of the defining releases of the Britpop scene, and its chart-topping follow-ups—Parklife and The Great Escape—saw Blur emerge as one of Britain's leading pop acts.
